After casting the hexagram, you get an original hexagram, a changed hexagram, and a selected judgment or line text. Combine these with your present real-world situation, and dig deep into the overall pattern before drawing any conclusion.

Laying this judgment framework over an important decision does not guarantee the outcome will be favorable ("吉"/auspicious) — as the earlier word-frequency count showed, 貞吉 and 貞凶 share the same character 貞, and which way it goes still depends on the specific position and timing. What divination genuinely improves isn't certainty about fate, but the rigor of the decision-making process itself — much like 无咎 ("no fault"), the single most frequent judgment in the Zhouyi, which has always been concerned with whether one's conduct holds up, not with some predetermined outcome. One more layer of deep thought, one more round of cross-checking, and the odds naturally improve.

解卦的本质就是在我们重大决策之前，作深入的风险评估情境分析，以期达到无咎趋吉避凶厥孚大有的结果。

At its core, interpreting a hexagram means doing deep risk assessment and situational analysis before a major decision — in pursuit of an outcome that is 无咎 (without fault), that moves toward good fortune and away from ill, and that reflects 厥孚大有 (utmost sincerity, great abundance).
